The University of Southern Mississippi will commemorate the 105th anniversary of its legislative founding Monday, March 30 with annual Founders' Day celebrations in Hattiesburg and on the Gulf Park campus in Long Beach.
With their soulful blues sound, the sibling trio of Homemade Jamz Blues Band will showcase their unique talent at the Southern Miss Jazz and Blues Festival on April 4.
Since its founding nearly 30 years ago, the Zeta Chi chapter of Delta Tau Delta at Southern Miss has raised approximately half a million dollars to fight Cystic Fibrosis. 
The Lady Eagles' 2014-15 season came to an end yesterday. Despite another spirited attempt at a second-half comeback, USM succumbed to Michigan 69-60 in the Elite 8 of the Women's NIT.
James McMahon threw 7 1/3 scoreless innings and Drew Burdeaux had three hits with two runs driven in Sunday afternoon as USM defeated No. 14 Rice, 5-1.
Southern Miss jumped out to an early lead, but UTEP responded to claim a 10-4 victory over the Golden Eagles in the series finale in El Paso, Texas.
