ALUMNI INDUCTED INTO HALL OF AME, AWARD RECIPIENTS HONORED

Black and gold festivities filled Homecoming 2012! Many dedicated and loyal alumni were honored as part of the Alumni Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony held Oct. 19, and the Association's Annual Awards Lunch and Business Meeting, held Homecoming day, Oct. 20.

A FOUNDATION LAID, A PASSION PURSUED

Sally-Ann Roberts '74, '76, co-anchors the highest rated local morning news program in Louisiana, Eyewitness Morning News, on WWL-TV. Roberts credits the training she received at Southern Miss as the foundation on which she was able to pursue her passion, broadcast journalism. A new inductee of the Mass Communication and Journalism Hall of Fame, Roberts visited the Hattiesburg campus on Nov. 14, to talk to a group of mass communication students about her more than 30-year career.

ANNUAL REPORT 2011-12

From an update on the Association's alumni team that has been established to assist in any possible way with the University's presidential search to a scholarship created in honor of University alumnus and current Governor Phil Bryant, the Southern Miss Alumni Association's 2011-12 fiscal year was not only exciting, but it was productive as well!
