Brett Cassell '00, '04, Associate Director for Internal Operations

Brett's responsibilities include oversight of the accounting, database management, human resources, office management and legislative advocacy management functions of the Association. He also manages two staff professionals in the areas of database and information systems and three support positions.

Jerry DeFatta '00, Associate Director for External Affairs
Jerry's primary responsibilities include membership recruitment, tracking and evaluation, as well as managing the Association's development efforts. He also oversees the Association's field operations, communication efforts and manages affinity partner relationships and other revenue generating programs.

James Coll '99, '06, Assistant Director for Communications
Jim oversees the production of The Talon quarterly magazine and Southern Miss Connections biannual newsletter; administers the Alumni Association Web site; and coordinates promotion of Alumni Association activities.

Dawn Smith '95, Manager of Programs
Dawn is the primary event planner and manager for the Association. She plans and coordinates most of the Association's external functions including the football and basketball hospitality events, Homecoming festivites, Graduation / Commencement receptions, and reunions.

Ryan Kelly '05, Manager of Constituent Relations

Ryan serves a dual role for the Association as the primary field representative and as advisor for The Legacy (Student Alumni Association). He maintains relationships with the individual chapter presidents, alumni ambassadors and constituent society officers and coordinates the calendar of external events of the Association. As The Legacy's advisor, he oversees programming and manages The Legacy's budget.

Melissa McDaniel, Coordinator of Information Services
Melissa coordinates and manages alumni membership fulfillment and oversees the maintenance of the Alumni Association database.

Sylvia Foxworth '82, Technology Business Analyst

Sylvia assists and gives technical support to contributor relations personnel at the Alumni Association, University Foundation and Eagle Club. She also acts as a liason between contributor relations departments and information technology at the University.

Rene' Trigg, Administrative Assistant
Rene' serves as the personal assistant to the Executive Director. She also maintains the financial records of the Association, manages the out-of-state tuition waiver program and coordinates special projects and volunteer meetings such as the Board of Directors and Past Presidents Council meetings.

Judy Barnes, Data Entry Specialist

Judy works closely with the Coordinator of Information Services to accomplish her tasks. Her primary focus is the proper maintenance of the Alumni Association database, issuing reports compiled from the database, contributing to membership benefit fulfillment, and assisting with special projects.

Mike Daniels, Receptionist

Mike serves as receptionist for the Alumni Association and assistant to the associate director. In addition, Mike assists with membership receipt, personal correspondence and database updates.
